Crudeli, Rees and Kinnear rewarded for outstanding senior country week performances
A trio of Albany and Districts Cricket Association players have been named in the team of country week for their efforts during the week-long senior carnival in Perth last month.
Star all-rounder Nathan Crudeli, opening batsman Dan Rees, and spinner Ryan Kinnear were all selected.
Crudeli’s superb week was rewarded by winning the Barry Shepherd medal as the best player of the tournament.
The damaging all-rounder made 224 runs at an average of 74 and took 13 wickets at 9 over five matches to be picked as the all-rounder.
Rees played an important role for the Whalers at the top of the order, scoring 273 runs to be the A-section leading run scorer at an average of 54.6.
Kinnear finished with 11 wickets at 8.73, including a superb eight-wicket haul in the semifinal against Upper Great Southern.
Winning team Peel had four players named in the squad, including exciting teenagers Corey Wasley and Teague Wyllie, while Upper Great Southern were represented by country cricket legend Rodney Ford and Grady Francis.
The team is selected by a points system from runs scored, catches or stumpings, and wickets taken, and there are weightings according to each section played.
Five batsmen, one all-rounder, one wicketkeeper and five bowlers are picked in the team.
