Cop shop dope
A 34-year-old man has been fined for drug possession after bringing cannabis to the Mt Barker police station.
On July 29, Shannon Shawn Colbung entered the Mt Barker police station for a routine interview.
While sitting in a station interview room, officers smelt cannabis coming from Colbung.
After searching him, they found just under one gram of the drug concealed in foil in his pants.
Colbung admitted the foil contained the drug, but denied ownership.
“These aren’t my pants,” he said to officers at the time.
He admitted drug possession.
After being fined $300 and ordered to pay $225 in court costs, Colburg could be heard from the Albany Magistrate’s Court gallery saying “it was only four cones”.
