Club laps up State success
Albany Swim Club performed strongly at the Junior Long Course State Championships at HBF Stadium in Perth from April 12-14 with a team of 10 swimmers.
The club, represented by Freya Bowyer, Joshua Campbell, Charlie Hick, Harriet Martin, Creed and Ned Shepherd, Coco and Poet Smargiassi, Itsuki Tomita and Max Vrbasso, enjoyed a terrific meet collectively. They swam exceptionally well to return a personal best rate of 70 per cent and can now claim two more State champions in multiple events.
Brothers Creed and Ned Shepherd were superb in the pool as they both secured gold medals.
Creed won gold in the 200m individual medley, 100m in freestyle and 50m in breaststroke, while Ned also secured gold medals in his 400m freestyle and 200m backstroke finals to go with two silvers and a bronze medal.
