There will be plenty of new features in the Advertiser’s weekly footy show, The 4 Points, which returns for a fourth consecutive season this week.

The weekly video show was initially brought to life to expand the Advertiser’s coverage of country football in the Great Southern and it has grown over the past three years to be a popular watch for most footy lovers.

This year host Cameron Newbold will be joined by Advertiser sports reporter Taj Stubber for the weekly show broadcast on Facebook as the pair dissect the local footy each round.

There will be a number of new weekly segments to keep viewers entertained and the show will be more engaging with local footy supporters, who will help decide some of the special guests and topics of discussion through polls on social media.

Another new part of the show for 2020 will be regular grabs from the results and news in the Ongerup Football Association and the Upper Great Southern Football League to go along with the Advertiser’s main competition in terms of coverage, the Great Southern Football League.

With a shortened country footy season, there will be fewer episodes, but the show will aim to provide coverage of all that’s best in football in the Great Southern region over the coming months. Newbold said there will be a focus on weekly segments and more fan engagement.

“It has been a lot of fun delivering The 4 Points every week over the past three years,” he said. “A shortened season just adds to the excitement and discussion around footy this year.

“Taj will be a great addition to the team. He has been around country footy since a young age and he will bring a lot of focus on the Uppers and OFA.

“Like last year we are really keen on feedbacks and engagement from our viewers. There will be polls on Facebook to help make this a reality.”

The 4 Points is filmed each week of the season and posted each and every Friday on the Advertiser Sport Facebook page.
