A car stolen from Kununurra was found in Denmark yesterday, thousands of kilometres from where it disappeared

Denmark police charged a 31-year-old man from Queensland for stealing a rental car from Kununurra on Thursday, October 18.

Sergeant Matt Hartfield said police will alleged the accussed was found driving the Mitsubishi SX vehicle on South Coast Highway eight days after it was reported stolen and more than 4000km away

“The suspect from QLD has been staying all over the place,” he said.

“He decided to hire a car for a 24 hours period and signed a contract to remind in the Kununurra area - but 8 days later the car rolled up in Denmark.

“He has decided to go on a little bit of a road trip.”

The suspect will appear before Albany Magistrates Court today.
