Another well-supported Albany Badminton tournament was wrapped up on Sunday, after players from around WA converged on Albany PCYC to compete across the weekend.

Run by the Amity Badminton Club, a capacity field of 48 players from a host of different clubs participating in the popular event.

With team names inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the winning overall team was Sneezy, who played exceptionally well over the two days of mixed doubles matches.

Steven Barron, Alfred Lau, Tom Rouse, Judy Moore, Sara Cole and Jannette Bradford made up the winning team.

A number of Albany competitors hit the courts and the event was well organised with players rotating from playing their round robin games on a time limit to each taking turns in scoring and umpiring the games during a rest.

More than 50 people attended the annual Saturday night dinner function at Ryan’s Restaurant.

The tournament will move to Pemberton next year after several years at Albany PCYC.
