CBH Group received its first load of canola into the Albany Port for the 2017-18 harvest on Tuesday.

A truck carrying 69 tonnes of canola delivered to the site.

Albany Zone manager Greg Thornton said that another load was expected in coming days, depending on the wet weather.

No other sites in the area had started receiving grain.

CBH released a harvest estimate in September anticipating a regular tonnage for the Albany region, but a lower-than-average tonnage prediction for the State.

The Albany region has averaged 2.9 million tonnes over the past five years.
