Boxwood’s Big Freeze for MND

Albany Advertiser

Boxwood Hill Football Club has raised more than $40,000 for Motor Neurone Disease research as part of the inaugural Boxwood’s Big Freeze.

Following its clash with Lake Grace, both communities joined in the freeze with brave people sliding into an ice bath.

Local business and individuals donated items to help raise the money with more than $40,000 raised.

In a statement on the club’s Facebook page, it said the amount raised was incredible.

“Thanks has to go to all who helped organise and run the event which turned out to be far bigger and more successful than we could ever have imagined,” it said.

“Just goes to show how generous our small country sporting clubs can be. Well done Boxwood and Lake Grace.”
