Bird call-out to all avian enthusiasts for festival

Tayler NealeAlbany Advertiser

For anyone with an interest in nature, the South Coast Festival of Birds, running throughout March, offers up a number of events that provide insight into all things avian.

The festival kicks off on Monday ith the free exhibition Wonderful Birds of the South Coast at the WA Museum. The main Festival event, a symposium, on March 17, features presentations by Professor Stephen Hopper, Milly Formby and Boyd Wykes.

Festival of Birds coordinator Basil Schur said the event would appeal to everyone. “With so many interesting events, there is something to suit all ages and tastes,” he said

“People can learn more about our resident and migratory birds and their habitats and conservation at a variety of talks and tours.

“They can also participate in workshops to learn how to encourage birds into their gardens or take better bird photographs, fly kites at the Albany foreshore, or enjoy an exhibition of spectacular art and photography.”
