Big names in winery debut
Two years in the making, Wignalls Winery’s sold-out concert featuring John Butler Trio and Missy Higgins is finally here.
Tomorrow night the popular musicians will hit the stage, with thousands of revellers to pack the winery.
The event, which is headlined by the John Butler Trio’s new album tour, sold out in just five weeks.
Owner of Wignalls Winery Rob Wignall said having two leading musicians take to the stage in Albany was tremendous for the town.
“One very exciting thing for tourism in the region is that a large proportion of the people attending are from out of Albany,” he said.
“This event is drawing them to the region and the visitors will stay for the weekend, which is great.
“We have just been voted the best town in Australia, and these events just increase the profile.
“We are really really excited and hope everyone has a great time.”
Albany’s Carla Geneve will open the show at 6pm, followed by Higgins at 7pm and the John Butler Trio at 8.45pm.
The event is strictly for over-18s and people under 25 are reminded to to bring photo ID. A fully licensed bar is available and there will be multiple local food trucks. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own food and picnic set-up.
A limited amount of free buses will return to Albany from 10.30pm.
