A strong field of cars will take to the Les Gorman clay in their bid to win the Ronnie J Street Stock Memorial on Saturday afternoon.

The street stock event has a prize pool of $5000 and is one of the highlights on the Mt Barker Speedway Club calendar.

More than 15 competitors are expected to race for the prizemoney, including defending champion Peter Herbert.

Herbert is a two-time winner of the race and he is among a number of strong local nominations at the daylight venue.

Paul Bowman, who is fresh of a podium finish in this season’s WA Street Stock Title, has entered along with the always fast Jason Batchelor.

Daniel Ameduri is also a proven competitor at the State and national level and is sure to add plenty of intrigue to the race.

The meeting also doubles as the Kelvin Sobey Memorial, awarded to the highest point scoring Mt Barker member on the day.

Production sedans, super sedans and junior sedans will be the support divisions at the meet.

Gates open at 10am and racing starts at 1pm on Saturday.
