A big field of more than 20 cars is expected to contest the annual Mt Barker Super Sedan Classic at Les Gorman Park this Saturday afternoon, which will also double as round 5 of the Super Sedans WA Summer Series.

Four-time winner Gary Higgs heads the nominations for the 11th edition of the popular event, which has a total prize pool of $10,000.

Higgs is one of two drivers to have won the classic on multiple occasions, with the other being Mt Barker local Chris Pavlovich, who has claimed the title three times. Pav-lovich has won the classic in 2013, 2015 and 2016 and is in terrific form currently, having taken out the most recent Summer Series round in Collie.

Higgs last won the classic back in 2014 but appears a strong hope of a fifth crown.

Other entries for the event include Damon Trouchet, Bert Vosbergen, Kevin Bell, Kyle Larson, Dean Shore, Rob Knox and Lee Aylett, with $1000 prize for the feature race winner.

Junior sedans, production sedans and street stocks will be the support divisions, with gates open at 10am and racing from 1pm.
