Beckett has a night out in the sulky with four winners
Trainer Barry Howlett and reinsman Aaron Beckett enjoyed a night out at Harold Reid Paceway, combining to score a winning treble on the nine-race program last Friday.
Howlett, who trains out of Busselton, had three winners on the card after Shadow Magic, Another Mouse and Dancing With Mach were all successful with Beckett in the sulky.
Beckett went on to notch a fourth win in the final race on the card as Better Pack scored comfortably by 5.4m for trainer Terry Ferguson. Raging $1.30 favourite Shadow Magic got the night off on a winning note for Howlett and Beckett as they edged out Rebel With A Cause by 1.4m in the Concrete Cup (2258m).
Another well-supported Howlett runner, Another Mouse, jumped a $1.50 chance on the tote and finished strongly over 1828m in race three.
Dancing With Mach ($1.60) then made it a treble for the pair after making great use of her front-row start, leading throughout to beat Captured Delight by 4.2m in the $10,000 Ryan Waddington Westbred Fillies & Mares Pace (2258m).
Trainer Peter Anderson notched a winning double, with Marilyn Said taking out race two before Allwoods Rocknroll made it successive wins in Albany when he overcame a wide gate to win for concession driver Deni Roberts.
Albany-based trainer Peter Fairless had success with Ariki ($17) in the Raileys Run Pace (2258m), driven by Bailey McDonough, who also saluted on Decimas Whitby for Ravensthorpe trainer John Fagg.
Albany Harness Racing Club has four meetings remaining, with its next fixture this Friday evening.
