Star spotting has begun in the Great Southern region as

Renowned Australian actors Sam Neill, Michael Caton and Asher Keddie are some of the big names to be front and centre in the fresh Aussie version of the award-winning original.

Director Jeremy Sims said he was excited to have the chance to take the elegant and powerful tale and set it in the place he spent his summers growing up.

“Regional WA is a vast and complex place, and the Great Southern has such a unique flavour that audiences deserve to see it on the big screen,” he said.

“It is, of course, a privilege to work again with Michael Caton, and Sam Neill is one of my favourite actors and a legend of world cinema. I can’t wait to bring them together and see what happens.”

The tale follows two estranged brothers on adjoining sheep farms who haven’t spoken to each other in four decades.

A rare disease threatens their livestock and the brothers must find a way to work together.

Produced by production company WMBC, Rams has been adapted by West Australian screenwriter Jules Duncan.
