An Albany man accused of assaulting father Matt Skeet outside Studio 146 nightclub will apply for bail next week after making a brief court appearance.

Cody Nathan Lee Bennell, 23, maintained a plea of not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm to Mr Skeet in July. Police allege Mr Bennell kicked the father to the head outside the nightclub.

In Albany Magistrate’s Court last Thursday, Mr Bennell’s lawyer indicated a bail application would be made on November 12 at his next appearance in a Perth court.

Mr Bennell was denied bail in August after pleading to the charge.
