Community members and visitors alike were eager to tap into their creative side in December when presented with the chance to fill the walls of the Albany Town Hall with drawings. It took a little over a week for the walls of the hall’s gallery to be filled to the brim with all sorts of colourful creations once the white walls were deemed open slather to creatives on December 14. The event was originally planned to run until January 20, but an enthusiastic response from the community meant the walls were full before Christmas. Visitors to the hall are now invited to interact with the creative display by completing activity sheets including the opportunity to “find the character”. The timing of the event, in between regularly scheduled exhibitions, coincided well with the start of the school holidays, and the City said it was amazing “to see such fun being had”. The display will remain in place for another two weeks.
