An Albany woman has claimed a $1 million winning ticket.

Last night’s Wednesday Lotto draw delivered WA’s 18th Division One winner so far this year — and the million-dollar ticket was sold at Plaza Lotteries.

The winner will have to drive to Perth to collect their prize.

Plaza Lotteries owner Wayne Walczak said he was “over the moon” to hear he had helped make someone rich after just eight months at the store.

“She was ecstatic and so are we because it is the first one since I bought the store in August,” he said.

“It was a standard ticket and it’s just incredible, absolutely incredible.”

Lotterywest spokeswoman Hermione Coleman said staff at Lotterywest headquarters in Perth were excited to meet the winner.
