Albany police appealing for information after early-morning post office burglary with collector coins stolen

Albany police are appealing to the public for information after a break-in at the Centennial Park post office in the early hours of December 20.
Police say at about 3.30am a person gained entry to the Australia Post branch on Sanford Road and stole items of “significant value”, including multiple anniversary and collector’s coins.
Those stolen during the burglary were a 35th anniversary kookaburra quarter-ounce gold coin, a one-ounce koala gold coin, a quarter-ounce gold sovereign coin and a black collector’s box containing three proof set coins of the Australian Honours system.
Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area around the same time on December 20, or has any information about the whereabouts of the stolen coins should report the information to Crime Stoppers here or call 1800 333 000.
