Albany man John Jeremiah Durack pleads not guilty to four counts of indecent assault against three women

Albany man John Jeremiah Durack will go to trial over indecent assault allegations involving three women. Mr Durack, 65, faced Albany Magistrates Court on Thursday, pleading not guilty to four counts of unlawful indecent assault. Police prosecutor Sergeant Alan Dean told the court two of the alleged assaults involved the same woman and happened between May 5 and June 9 last year. The other two charges related to separate women and allegedly happened on October 21 and November 10 last year. Mr Durack, the long-time owner of Albany’s award-winning bakery Doralane Pastries, is set to take the matters to trial in May. Sgt Dean told the court there would be seven prosecution witnesses, including the three alleged victims and four police officers. He said the prosecution case would also rely on a 19-minute police interview. The Doralane Pastries Facebook page states the business is “Albany’s longest family-owned and run bakery, established in 1967”.
