Albany man charged with child exploitation
Albany police have charged a 29-year-old man with a series of child exploitation offences after a US police investigation.
Police said in June last year, US police contacted local authorities regarding the alleged online activities of a WA man leading Albany detectives to search a Great Southern home on Tuesday.
It will be alleged the man communicated with a 14-year-old girl electronically, seeking to groom her to engage in sexual activity.
Police said a number of electronic devices were seized during the search for analysis.
The man has been charged with involved a series of offences including encouraging a child over 13 years and under 16 years to do an indecent act.
The accused will appear in Albany Magistrates Court today.
