A 39-year-old Albany man was one of two people charged after police allegedly found stolen jewellery when intercepting a car in Perth last week.

Central Regional Operations Group officers arrested two men in Leederville on Saturday, March 11, after stopping their car on Vincent Street.

Jewellery allegedly stolen from burglaries in Albany, cannabis, and registration plates were discovered after a search.

Police say information from the public led them to search a bin and they found jewellery allegedly stolen from a home in Landsdale after the same car was spotted.

The Albany man has been charged with aggravated burglary and stealing and is due to appear in Albany Magistrate’s Court on March 31.

A 34-year-old Mt Helena man was also charged with aggravated burglary, and stealing and possessing a prohibited drug, and will appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

Inquiries are ongoing and detectives would like to speak to anyone who has any information regarding items believed to have been stolen.

The jewellery’s owners are urged to contact the Regional Operations Group office on 9370 7346.
