Albany Little Athletics athletes better their with dozens of personal-best performances

Albany’s little athletes continued to show great form last Saturday, with dozens of personal-best performances recorded across all age groups. The Albany Little Athletics Club held its fifth meeting of the season last Saturday, with 78 athletes taking part. Registration numbers continue to rise, with 109 signing up for the season so far. Despite a challenging head wind on the front straight, three athletes came close to capturing the short sprint centre record for their age groups. Demi Burns sprinted within less than 0.5sec of the under-14 girls 60m record that has stood for 20 years. Under-10 competitor Xavier McEwon and Aiden Offer in the under-13s also came close to centre short sprint records. The aspiring athletes can now look forward to track and field events, including hurdles, again this Saturday.
