Albany Flipzone return from first competition since COVID-19 with 11 medals
Albany’s Flipzone had eight competitors win 11 medals when they travelled to Perth on August 23 for a fun competition to mark the return of gymnastics and trampolining after COVID-19 hit.
Six competitors took to the trampoline for the first time in a competition at Highflyers Trampoline and Gymnastics Club in Perth, with only Ruby Beckett and Lola Cekerevac having previously competed.
Cekerevac won a gold medal for both in her trampoline event and level two synchro, while she was third in the double mini trampoline competition.
Miranda Davy had a great competition, walking away with three medals after winning her double mini trampoline event and finishing second in the trampoline and level one synchro.
Ebony Davy also claimed a silver medal after partnering with her sister Miranda in the level one synchro event.
Molly Stan-Bishop came away with a gold medal in level two synchro with Cekerevac, and also won a silver medal in level one double mini trampoline.
Beckett completed a new move to win a silver medal in the level five double mini trampoline event while Ashlyn Cook placed second in the level two double mini trampoline competition.
Charli Grochowski just missed out on a medal from a group of 27 competitors in level three trampoline, while Flipzone’s youngest member, four-year-old Harriet Stan-Bishop completed two top routines in level one trampoline.
