Albany Entertainment Centre packed to the rafters for the Albany premiere of locally shot film Frank and Frank

The Albany premiere of locally-produced and filmed Frank and Frank was a sold out occasion at the Albany Entertainment Centre on Friday night. The event was marked by a welcome to country by Menang Noongar elder Lester Coyne and a speech by Albany Mayor Dennis Wellington who said he was “astounded” by the number of people in attendance. The film stars Myles Pollard and Trevor Jamieson as the titular characters who navigate a comedic friendship after one Frank’s discovery that his wife is leaving him. With a budget of $70,000 the project was made possible with the support of local businesses and the Albany community. The crowd laughed throughout the film, some excitedly pointing out friends who made short appearances throughout. A Q&A was held following the film with producer Suzanne Worner, director Adam Morris, cinematographer Lauchlan Gillet, sound technician Kim Lofts, and editor Talarah Pedrocchi Roelofs. Due to commence production in the new year, the production team spoke of their upcoming film Frederickstown, that will once again showcase Albany and its surrounds.
