Albany duo post strong national results
Albany swim pair Tom Gawned and Creed Shepherd have returned home with solid results from their trip to the School Sport Australia National Swimming Championships held in Melbourne earlier this month.
Shepherd made his State debut at the meet alongside Albany Swim Club star Gawned, the duo taking on a heavy workload across the week-long championships.
Gawned swan 13 individual events and six relays, competing as a 15-year-old in the 15-16 year age division.
Shepherd had 12 individual swims and two relays in the 10 year age division despite still being a nine-year-old.
Both performed strongly, Gawned recording 11 top 10 finishes as he made seven finals and his best placing came when sixth in the 100m freestyle final.
Shepherd finished with four top 10 finishes and made three finals and his best effort was eighth in the 200m individual medley.
