Albany drink driver with two kids in car
Albany Police have labelled a 28-year-old Yakamia woman who registered a blood alcohol level five times the limit with two children in the car disgraceful.
The woman was first spotted driving erratically by an off-duty officer on Wednesday afternoon, the officer then informed Albany Police.
Police tracked down the car, which Albany Police First Class Constable Neil Baines said was “bouncing off curbs” and discovered a three-year-old and a five-year-old were passengers in the vehicle.
The woman recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.245 per cent, well above the legal limit of 0.05 per cent.
1/C Const. Baines said it was an unsettling incident.
“The concern is the drink driving obviously,” he said
“To have two young children in the car is a disgrace- she’s putting herself and others in danger.
“It could have been so much worse.”
The woman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and will appear in court at a later date
