Albany community mourn drowning death of Sam Roth
Friends and family of an Albany man who drowned near Lowlands Beach yesterday have paid tribute to the 30-year-old.
Samuel Peter Roth died after he was swept into the ocean while fishing at The Deep, a remote fishing spot about 2km west of Lowlands Beach at about 12.40pm yesterday.
Other fishers attempted to rescue Mr Roth but tragically his body was recovered from the water yesterday afternoon.
Below are some of the tributes posted on Mr Roth’s Facebook page this morning.
“Never a dull moment and never without a smile and that bloody laugh.”
“Only few days ago talking about getting you a shot up on to FIFO life.”
“Gutted is an absolute understatement...place will not be the same with out you.”
“Yesterday we lost a legend, our hearts break knowing that you are no longer with us.”
More to come.
