Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry calls for Great Southern Business Awards nominations

Nominations are now open for the 2022 Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry Great Southern Business Awards. The ACCI’s annual awards, first held in 1999 in front of 45 people, have grown to become the region’s most prestigious business awards. “We as a Great Southern community have many regular interactions with our local businesses that can completely change the way we go about our day,” ACCI chief executive Lisa Smith said. “I believe it is important we take a moment to celebrate and recognise those exceptional businesses and businesspeople within our community.” Ms Smith said there were several ways people could get involved in this year’s event. People can nominate businesses and individuals across a range of categories by 5pm on Friday, September 2. Businesses who are nominated will be invited to submit an application, with applications closing at 5pm on Monday, September 12. “There are various awards categories for people to nominate a business for and acknowledge how they have been positively impacted by that business,” Ms Smith said. “Businesses can also nominate themselves for up to three categories. “And, of course, everyone in the community is invited to attend the business awards gala night presentation and celebration.” The awards ceremony will be held at the Albany Entertainment Centre from 6pm on Saturday, October 29.
