Albany beach closed due to tagged tiger shark

Middleton Beach has been closed with a tiger shark detected nine times within 40 minutes this afternoon.

The tagged shark was first detected just after 3.30pm and last set off the receiver at 4:10pm.

The City of Albany advised that rangers will erect signs advising of the detection and closing the beach to the public.

The receiver is outside the Ellen Cove shark barrier.
