Albany and Districts Cricket Association make number of changes ahead of round two Country Cup clash with Peel

Albany and Districts Cricket Association will be out to all but book their place in the Belt Up Country Cup grand final when they take on Peel in round two on Sunday. The ADCA secured a stunning two-run victory over the WA Invitational XI in the first round after star all-rounder Nathan Crudeli (113 runs) produced a match-winning century. A 12-man Whalers squad has been named for the clash Peelwood Reserve with Alex Fergie, Kieran Howie and Ted Batchelor missing from the round one win because of work commitments while Lincoln Joy is also out with injury. However, the squad will be bolstered by the inclusion of star batsmen Mitch Green, key all-rounder Matt France, new recruit Alex Garlick, fast bowler Ben Grey and youngster Mohit Jaggi. France and Grey are no certainties to play, according to ADCA president Ryan Kinnear, with the decision to be made closer to the fixture. Kinnear is hopeful a bright start to their innings will set them up for victory. “With the away games, I think it’s really important for us to start well in that first innings whether we bat or bowl,” Kinnear said. “The guys will still take some confidence from the first round but Peel are going to be a tough opposition. “For them they have to win their last two to be a shot and for us — we don’t want to drop any games. “We’re expecting a pretty tight tussle again, hopefully it doesn’t go down to the last over this time.” The match will start at 10am on Sunday while Bunbury and Districts will take on the WA Invitational XI in the other round two fixture at Egan Park.
