Albany and Districts Cricket Association fixtures released ahead of 2023-24 season

The Albany and Districts Cricket Association have released their fixtures ahead of the 2023-24 season with action set to commence on October 21 across all three senior grades. The A-grade competition will run from October until March with the preliminary final set down for March 16 and the grand final scheduled for March 23. For the first time, the B-grade competition will feature Twenty20 matches throughout the season. The same five clubs from last season will remain playing A-grade while there have been slight changes in the minor grades. Narrikup will field a team in the B-grade competition this year while also retaining their C-grade squad, expanding the total number of teams in the ADCA to 18. Mt Barker will not have a side in the under-17 competition for 2023-24. In the A-grade and B-grade competitions, there are five rounds of T20 fixtures which will all be played for premiership points, including a stand-alone grand final. There will be no major rule changes for the upcoming season. ADCA President Ryan Kinnear said the addition of T20 games in B-grade had been well received. “There was some interest in the idea from other teams, it was definitely something we wanted to look at,” he said. “Most of the feedback for that has been pretty good across all clubs. “C-grade will stay at six teams with Narrikup re-entering that competition.” Kinnear will enter the second year of his term as ADCA president and Terry Eaton replaces Jarrod Hansen as secretary. Tess Air will remain in the treasurer role while John Miell will fill the role of senior vice president.
