ADCA 2023-24: Bulls skipper Jeremy Wood cops suspension for code of conduct breaches in round six victory

Mt Barker captain Jeremy Wood has copped a one-match ban after an investigation into the heated Bulls and Railways clash in round six on November 25. Wood was missing from the Bulls’ round seven team on Saturday, as they knocked off Royals for the first time this season. The star all-rounder accepted a one-match ban he was offered by the Albany and Districts Cricket Association last week. The ADCA executive looked into three separate incidents that stemmed from the fiery clash at Turf East. The game went to the final over, with the Bulls securing a one-wicket win in the end after taking the final scalp with two balls left in the Tigers’ run chase. The ADCA stated that all three incidents breached its code of conduct, under rule 1.3, by using language that is obscene, offensive or insulting and/or making an obscene gesture. Wood accepted the penalty offered to him and was eligible to play on Sunday for Albany and Districts in the Country Cup competition. However, Peel forfeited. He will be available for the Bulls’ round eight clash with Manypeaks this Saturday. Wood is the first player to be suspended this season.
