ADCA 2023-24: Minor gear up for two big days of finals action this weekend to determine grand finalists

Denmark and Collingwood Park will do battle in the qualifying final on Saturday to advance directly into the Albany and Districts Cricket Association B-grade grand final. Minor premiers the Magpies will square off with Park at Turf East while Mt Barker and Manypeaks will fight to keep their season alive in the elimination final at Turf South. The Magpies, who are the reigning B-grade champions, go into the fixture fresh off a bye and with a head-to-head record of two wins and one loss against their rivals, with both of their wins coming in rounds 12 and 16. The last time the two sides met, the Magpies walked away three-wicket victors after successfully chasing 184 runs with a sublime unbeaten knock of 59 from captain Campbell Robertson. After losing two of their three games against the Bulls this year, last year’s runners-up Peaks are aiming to even the ledger in their push to rectify last year’s grand final heartbreak. The last time the two met the Bulls secured a dominant 61-run win at Procter Oval in round 17. Both games begin at 12.30pm and the winner of the elimination final will meet the loser of the qualifying final on Sunday. In the ADCA C-grade, the Magpies will host Park at McLean Park on Saturday for a spot in the grand final, while Royals and Peaks fight for survival in the elimination final at Hard North. Both qualifying final participants hold the same record of 12 wins and three losses but Park currently holds bragging rights over the minor premiers after handing them a 100-run defeat in their last outing in round 12. Both C-grade finals start at 1pm with the loser of the qualifying final taking on the winner of the Lions and Peaks in the preliminary final on Sunday.
