Action-packed weekend of Albany and Districts Cricket Association T20 set to be played across three days

Five clubs will play three rounds of the A-grade Twenty20 competition in the Albany and Districts Cricket Association this weekend. The T20 games will also count towards the A-grade premiership standings and will be the last fixtures played before the mid-season break for Christmas and new year. The winner of each T20 game will be awarded three points, half the amount of a regular one-day win. There will be five rounds in the T20 competition and a separate ladder with the fifth round of the competition to be contested on Friday and Sunday due to rescheduling. Manypeaks will clash with Collingwood Park at Turf North while Royals do battle with Railways on Turf South on Saturday in round one. The Tigers will meet the Bulls in round two and Park will meet the Lions in the other fixture. As a result of the A-grade washout in round six, the T20 round five fixtures which were originally set down for January 8 have been brought forward to take place this weekend due to the 50-over A-grade round taking place on that date. Peaks will square off with the Tigers on Friday afternoon at Turf North while the Bulls face the Lions on Sunday at Turf South as part of the round five fixtures. Rounds three and four will be played on January 7 and the grand final is set to be played on February 4. The Lions come into the competition as defending champions, having beaten Bulls in last season’s T20 decider.
