4WD ploughs through median strip
A four-wheel-drive ploughed through a median strip on Albany Highway on Tuesday night leaving the road scattered with vegetation.
Police were called to the Shell service station in Orana about 9.50pm after the driver of a Mitsubishi Pajero seemingly lost control of the vehicle. Nearby residents reported hearing a loud crash near the big roundabout.
It is understood the driver was travelling east on South Coast Highway when he entered Albany Highway, drove through the median strip and came to rest at the service station.
The crash flattened a road sign and left branches across the bitumen.
The highway was briefly reduced to one lane.
It is understood the driver was taken into custody at the scene.
