Around the world at South Perth
Emanating luxury from every angle, Villa Mia by Averna Homes combines worldly materials with opulent style to create a striking build.
Designed with a family buyer in mind, Villa Mia has plenty of modern living areas for every member of the household to enjoy.
“The inspiration behind the design of the home was to create a spacious but comfortable home for a mature or growing family,” Averna Homes General Manager Paul Spatara said.
“The home would need to be comfortable yet practical and not compete with the current landscape – it would sit confidently but sensitively in a resolved streetscape.”
Sourcing a range of materials from various corners of the globe to create an industrial-esque design, Mr Spatara said the home had an air of timelessness.
“I selected a diverse range of materials from countries all over the world,” he said.
“The tiles are from Italy, the feature tiles from Japan, the appliances are from Germany, the wallpaper is from Holland, the timber is from Canada, the roof tiles are from Spain and the natural stone is from Greece and Turkey.
“Having an Italian background and growing up in Australia has given me inspiration to use a wide variety of materials that best represents the multicultural society we are today – I also love selecting natural and authentic materials that have a meaning and purpose.”
Immediately apparent from the streetscape is the home’s striking design – featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and a mixture of neutral whites and chocolate browns.
A low-care garden works to soften the elevation, with shrubbery dotted throughout.
Internally, the home showcases a brilliant execution of open-plan design and a smart use of glass that completes the light and bright abode.
“The large amounts of glass create transparent separation throughout the home,” Mr Spatara said.
Showcasing the latest fittings and fixtures, as well as recessed ceilings, the open-plan kitchen, dining and living space ties in an urban feel.
In the kitchen, clutter is kept out of sight with a scullery and butler’s pantry concealed by a grey glass door to provide additional storage space and preparation areas.
“There has been careful consideration to select appliances and materials that don’t dominate in the home, yet complement each other,” Mr Spatara said.
The outdoor alfresco serves more as an extension of the main living area, with a large entertaining space and outdoor kitchen.
On warmer days and balmy evenings, guests and family will love unwinding in the glistening pool, extending all the way to the floor-to-ceiling windows of the living area.
Elsewhere in the home, the master suite is a modern masterpiece with a floating headboard placed in the room’s centre.
The master ensuite features balanced monochromatic tones which highlight the shape and form of the space.
It’s here where morning routines are a simple pleasure, with a freestanding bath, luxurious shower and a feature dual vanity.
Villa Mia is located in South Perth and is open for viewing Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4pm.
