Perth venues serve up indulgent, chocolate-inspired Easter treats

VideoPerth venues are stepping it up for Easter, serving up some indulgent, chocolatey treats.

Scarborough’s The Peach Pit is hosting an egg-stra Boozy Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Saturday from 6pm. They’re hiding two dozen boozy eggs around the venue and if you find one, you can swap it at the bar for a free Hot Cross Bun Cocktail, made with Gordon’s Pink Gin, Pedro Ximenez, cinnamon, agave and chocolate bitters.

The Merrywell at Crown has teamed up with local baker Little Home Bakery to create a limited-edition hot cross bun burger, above right. Available until April 28, sink your teeth into a double Angus patty with a special Easter sauce, all served on a rich and buttery hot cross brioche roll.

The Aviary in the city will be shaking up their famous Chocolate Eggspresso Martinis with some new additions this year. They’ll be serving The Classic, The Spiced or The Creme until the end of April — and they also have vegan eggs.

Goody Two’s at Hibernian Place has also given their espresso martini ($19) a chocolatey twist for Easter, making it from Ketel One, Mr Black, espresso, dark cacao, toasted hazelnut and topped with a toasted marshmallow garnish. Try it from April 17-20.

Until April 22, The Westin hotel in the city is offering an epic Easter-themed high tea, right, featuring delicacies such as a smoked salmon “carrot” edible garden and hot cross scones with vanilla chantilly and berry jam.

If you don’t like your drinks boozy, try Hostel G’s Lazy Lee Urban Eatery’sSo Very Eggstra Shake, served inside an Easter egg topped with whipped cream, marshmallow and smarties. They’re also dishing up a Nutty Bunny Pizza — a Nutella pizza base with toppings of bananas, marshmallows, strawberries, Smarties, Easter eggs and a drizzle of secret sauce.

Chicho Gelato has created a new flavour just for April. The White Chocolate Salty Yolk has a chocolate base, with a swirl of house-made salted egg yolk curd.
