Get a look at the next generation of WA artists at this popular exhibition showcasing the work of Year 12 Visual Arts graduates. The 60 works on display have been selected from almost 300 entries and represent 36 high schools from across the State. The opening of the exhibition is being marked with a three-day Pulsefest, celebrating youth creativity, with fashion, music, dance, writing and performance all showcased. There will also be a makers market on the Art Gallery of WA rooftop tomorrow from 10am to 3pm.

Stars, Stripes and Grapes

Heritage Wine Bar shines a light on a wine producing region that is little known in Australia — the US. Fairbridge Festival Showcase

Devastated by the recent cancellation of Fairbridge Festival? You can still catch a number of the national and international acts who were set to play the event. The line up includes Danish group Himmerland, Gordie Tentrees and Jaxon Haldane from Canada, Aussie-Canadian duo Shark and Fox, circus acts Tristan Chipolata and Joel Salom from the UK and NSW respectively, and storyteller and poet Peter Capp from NSW.

Are you lucky enough to be on Rottnest this weekend? Head down to the Hotel for an excellent line up of music kicking off with Kiara B and the Illegals followed by Matty T Wall Band and Satura 4. Headliner Abbe May takes the stage at 5pm. The even wraps up at 6pm, so you can even catch the last ferry home if you’re not staying on the island.

Acclaimed architect Ronald Bodycoat hosts a 45-minute tour explaining the rich history and significant elements of the State Buildings and the surrounding Cathedral Square precinct. Bodycoat delves into the rich history and shares interesting anecdotes about these historic sites. After the tour, enjoy coffee and cake from SHOP 1875.

La Bayadere: The Temple Dancer

WA Ballet in partnership with Queensland Ballet and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, is thrilled to revive Greg Horsman’s 2019 re-imagining of La Bayadère, the iconic ballet which was first performed by the Russian Imperial Ballet in St Petersburg in 1877. The dancers will be accompanied by the WA Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of WA Ballet principal conductor Jessica Gethin, performing Ludwig Minkus’ score with arrangements by Nigel Gaynor.

Dawn French is a Huge Twat
