Foo Fighters’ lead singer Dave Grohl spotted in high spirits outside the Ritz Carlton in Perth
Foo Fighters lead singer Dave Grohl has emerged from a luxury Perth hotel in high spirits ahead of the legendary band’s long-awaited concert on Wednesday night.
The 54-year-old was spotted leaving the Ritz Carlton where he met his crew outside.
He enthusiastically threw up his hands as he yelled out to his team before getting into a black van and speeding off.
He was wearing a dark grey shirt and shorts which he paired with skate shoes, a black cap and a cross choker necklace.
The band was headed to HBF Park for rehearsals before they rock out with WA fans at the venue on Wednesday night.
The sighting comes after Grohl and the rest of the band were spotted leaving a special side door at Perth Airport, where black vans were waiting for them following their arrival in WA on Monday evening.
The 15-time Grammy award-winners have chosen our State to start their Australian tour in what is set to be a poignant reunion with fans after the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins last year.
The band, formed in Seattle in 1994, cancelled their shows last year after the “staggering loss” of Hawkins.
The drummer died last year aged 50 at his Four Seasons Casa Medina hotel room in Bogota, Colombia, leaving the band in need of a break to “grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close”.
For fans, it will be the first time they will have seen the rockers perform their 11th studio album But Here We Are, released this year.
And it will be played with new drummer — Grohl’s long-time pal Josh Freese.
Joining Foo Fighters at their gig are QLD punkers, The Chats and Adelaide duo Teenage Joans.
