The Federal Government's $688m HomeBuilder scheme will give eligible Australians $25,000 to build or substantially renovate their properties but WA’s peak real estate body is “disappointed” with the funding program.

Set to run between June and December, the taxpayer-funded grant aims to bolster the construction sector — one of the biggest employers nation-wide.

Speaking to The West Live host Jenna Clarke from 8.45am, REIWA president Damian Collins will discuss what flaws he has identified in the scheme.

Later on the show, Clarke will discuss all things gardening with WA horticulture expert and radio host Sabrina Hahn.

Ms Hahn will provide a full winter garden guide, including how to start from cuttings and what vegetables to plant now to reap the rewards in spring.
